Turkish and Ukrainian presidents met in Kyiv on Monday to attend the eighth meeting of the Turkey-Ukraine High-Level Strategic Council. The head of state Vladimir Zelensky said this during a joint briefing with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan that Ukraine and Turkey agreed on military assistance and supplies of the An-178.

 Also today, an important agreement on military-financial cooperation was signed, according to which the Ukrainian army will receive financial assistance from Turkish partners. Among other things, we agreed to give impetus to cooperation in the aviation industry, in particular with regard to the construction and supply of An-178 aircraft. We paid special attention enhancing security in the Black Sea region, ”Zelensky said.

Turkish Air Force flies with C-160 Transall and looking to acquire new transport aircraft in a similar class. Ukraine’s Antonov proposes An-178 to Turkey.
