The US decided to accelerate the commencement of the US Air Force’s “next generation air dominance” (NGAD) project by requesting a significant amount of budget increase. According to the information revealed, USAF revised its 2017 budget needs from $20 million to $167,8 million. During a conference on March 22, a senior official from USAF says it is vital to maintaining air superiority through the next two decades and by investing in the right technologies, USAF can “make smart decisions” and “evolve those technologies on multiple fronts.”
