The Polish Defence Ministry is undecided between the F-35 and the F-16A/B. Whether the new F-35s or the second-hand F-16A/Bs to be strengthened by new ones would be a more economical solution, the ministry is looking for answer. Deputy Defence Minister Bartosz Kownacki explained that the issue is on the agenda of parliament. While the maintenance costs of the F-16s are very high, how the F-35s will be paid remains unanswered. Poland will have to remove the Su-22 and MiG-29 planes from the inventory due to maintenance costs.
