The technical feasibility studies of the Joint New Air-to-Air Missile (JNAAM) will be completed this year, announced by Japanese local media on 15 January. Developed in collaboration with the UK’s MBDA and Japan’s Mitsubishi Electric under a 2014 contract, JNAAM combines the UK's missile-related technologies and Japanese seeker technologies. The missile is based on Mitsubishi AAM-4, with enhanced operational range and higher accuracy.
