Submarine Movement Increases in Pacific

The Philippines, which can be described as the gate of the Far East in the Pacific due to its strategic location, is experiencing unusual movements.

For the first time in its history, Russia will send submarine to the Philippines. The platform will visit Manila Bay as part of the International Fleet Review (IFR) Exercise. In the statement made by the Russian Navy, ships in Russian inventory will participate in the activity to be carried out near Corregidor and Bataan.

The exercise is described as one of the most important parts of the Western Pacific Naval Symposium hosted by the Philippines for the first time. IFR, targeting the participation of 24 navies in total, will be held on May 19-21, 2020. In the statement made by the Philippines, 15 countries, especially the USA, Russian and Chinese Navy, will participated in the event.
