Latvia received Stinger systems. The systems received from Denmark were procured under the bilateral agreement signed between the two countries.
In the statement made for the delivery of the missiles, the importance of the systems in the defence of Latvia was mentioned. Procurement agreement signed last year. The Latvian National Armed Forces, which took delivery also launchers together with the missiles, will cooperate with NATO and its allies on maintenance and training issues. Last August, Finland provided training support to Latvia and trained Latvian military personnel in Finland. An agreement was signed with the NATO Support and Procurement Office for maintenance of the systems. Under the scope of the agreement, the missiles will be kept at safety standards and operational standards.
