Solution Comes From MBDA

Italy is interested in the Common Anti-air Modular Missile Extended Range (CAMM-ER) being developed by MBDA to replace its Aspide and Spada missiles. The Italian Ministry of Defence has authorized funding for development and acquisition, sparing €95 million as its contribution to development costs.

After evaluating many other options, Italy resolved on CAMM-ER owing to the missile's “soft-launch” firing sequence which protects the launcher, in-flight self-destroy capability managed by its command and control system and the active RF guidance system allowing all-weather operations.
