MBDA’s Sea Venom/ANL anti-ship missile has successfully completed its first firing at the Île du Levant test range in France. Developed jointly by the UK and France, the Sea Venom/ANL  is planned to be used from the UK's AW159 Wildcat helicopters and French Hélicoptère Interarmées Léger (HIL). The joint missile aims to deliver an enhanced capability and replace existing and legacy systems such as the UK-developed Sea Skua and the French-developed AS15TT anti-ship missiles.

The 2,5-meter long missile weights 100 kilograms and is also suitable for a wide range of helicopter platforms including Wildcat, Panther and NH90.
