Russian Ministry of Defence announced on 16 March that testing of the newest Russian early radar warning aircraft A-100 Premier will begin in July. In addition to its main purpose of tracking and escorting aerial targets and surface ships, A-100 Premier can be used for control over strike fighters and perform as a command center. A-100s was developed based on A-50 early warning aircraft.
