Russian “Region” Scientific & Production Enterprise JSC has unveiled APR-3ME Orel (Vulture) air-launched anti-submarine torpedo at the Moscow Air Show (MAKS) 2017. Developed based on APR-3E, APR-3ME Orel is an upgraded variant of its predecessor featuring improved endurance, longer detection ranges, increased accuracy, and an anti-jamming capability. Weighing 470 kg, the new variant can engage targets located in depths of up to 800 m utilizing hydroacoustic (sonar) targeting system. The company aims Asia-Pacific and Near Eastern littoral countries.
