The UK government has placed an order for one thousand AGM-114-R1/R2 Hellfire II Semi-Active Laser (SAL) missiles with an estimated cost of $150 million.
AGM-114R integrates capabilities of all previous Hellfire II variants equipped with semi-active laser (SAL) seekers into a single missile. The missile, also known as Hellfire Romeo, can be launched from higher altitudes than previous variants due to its enhanced guidance system and improved navigation capabilities.
