Boustead Naval Shipyards (BNS) conditionally delivered the hydrographic survey ship KD Perantau to the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN). The vessel had been undergoing an overhaul process since 2014, during which it ‘almost’ sank at Lumut base, where refurbishment work was being conducted. KD Perantau received Raytheon Anschütz’s Synapsis Intelligent Bridge Control (IBC) suite and integrated systems during its overhaul. The 1 thousand 900-tonne Perantau is equipped with four multipurpose boats, three winches, and two cranes. It was first commissioned in October 1998.
