A new Patriot step came from the Far East. Japan has withdraw its the PAC-3 missile systems to their bases after the reduction of tension in a missile crisis with North Korea. Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) air defense systems, which have been deployed in Hokkaido, Shimane, Hiroshima, Ahime and Kochi areas which are deployed since August 2017, have been returned to their previous positions. Japan also withdraw PAC-3s at Ichigawa, Tokyo's which is responsible for the defence of the headquarters to the Japanese Air Self Defence Force Base.
Japan has deployed PAC-3 systems at various points in the country with increasing tension, and in North Korea's experiment, two Hwaseong-12 (KN-17) ballistic missiles pass through Japan before falling to Guam shore, and then Japan deployed to Hokkaido Island PAC-3. With the decreasing of tensions following the meeting of US and North Korean leaders, Japan has previously reduced the alarm status of navy vessels from “High” to “24 Hour Notice” levels.
The K-band active radar guided MIM-104F Patriot PAC-3 missile can destroy targets at an altitude of 15,000 meters. It has kinetic energy warhead and it can reach 4.5 Mach. The effective range of the missile is 20,000 meters and weight of the missile is 318 kilograms
