North Korean leader Kim Jong-un declared the country's Pukkuksong-2 medium-range ballistic missile ready for operational deployment and mass production. Following the successful test-firing of the missile on 21 May, North Korea verified the missile's performance and confirmed the weapon system is ready for mass production.
A South Korean official was quoted by the Yonhap news agency as saying that the missile reached an altitude of 560 km.
