Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu revealed on 7 March that the country's Navy is to receive two new advanced Project 22350 frigates by the end of 2020. New frigates will be equipped with Kalibr and Oniks cruise missiles as well as a new rocket-artillery system with several types of guided missiles. The lead frigate of the Project 22350, Admiral Gorshkov, is currently undergoing trials. The Admiral Gorshkov-class frigates have a displacement of 4 thousand 500 tonnes, a range of 4 thousand nautical miles at 14 knots and a top speed of 29 knots.
