The first image appeared of the SHORAD (Short Range Air Defense) system project, which joint work of Boeing and General Dynamics, was released.

The system was developed exclusively in favor of the US Army's short-range air defense system gap in Europe. First tests are planned to beginning of next month. 8×8 Stryker was chosen as the carrier vehicle. AIM-9X Sidewinder and AGM-114 Hellfire were used as weapons. In this respect, the vehicle was able to attack both air targets and land targets.

The AIM-120 AMRAAM, which is air-air missile, has been used as surface launched missile system. The system, called SL-AMRAAM, is on the inventory of several countries, mainly the USA. It is a matter of curiosity AIM-9X would fill which gap when there were many surface launched air defense missile systems.
