Lockheed Martin introduces the new Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar prototype as part of its next generation air and missile defense sensor development.
The 360-degree scanning capability radar is capable of tracking ballistic missiles. Radar is constructed with modular architecture and planned to replace the MPQ-65 radar used in Patriot systems when all work is completed. It is expected that the radar which developed with GaN technology will have a lifecycle of 30 years.
