Exercise 'Dynamic Manta', an annual multi-national NATO-led military drill taking place off the southern coast of Italy, has been kicked off on 13 March. The participant countries are declared as France, Norway, Canada, Turkey, Germany, Spain, Greece, Italy and the United Kingdom. According to the US Navy release, the drill aims to build resilient anti-surface and anti-submarine warfare capabilities between NATO allies.
US guided-missile destroyer USS Porter, two P-8A Poseidon aircraft, a P-3 Orion surveillance aircraft will take part in the drill along with a US nuclear powered attack submarine, the release said.
