It was raised last month that Morocco wanted to buy 13 TB2 armed drones and ammunition developed by Baykar Defence. Morocco will equip its purchase of TB-2s with electro-optical systems from Canada, Arab media reported.
On April 12, Canada announced the cancellation of 29 military export permits to Turkey. The embargo covered WESCAM cameras used in TB-2 drones. Morocco has reached an agreement with Canada and Wescam electro-optics will be used in TB-2.
Canadian Foreign Minister Marc Garneau said, “Following a review of evidence that Canadian technology exported to Turkey is being used in Nagorno-Karabakh, I am announcing the cancellation of suspended permits in the fall of 2020.”
