Modernised Tanks Arrived to Pakistan

Pakistan continues to reinforce its army despite financial problems.

The first batch of 282 tanks that Islamabad bought from Serbia in 2015 was delivered recently. Before being delivered to the end user, T-55 tanks were modernised. Upgrade works, which completed at Yugoimport facilities; affected engine, vision and electronics systems. Considerable improvements have also been made to the survivability of the platforms. The tanks, which the Pakistan Army plans to deploy in the West at the Afghanistan border, will take part in preventing possible infiltration attempts.

In a statement made by Serbia, the income from the sale of 282 retired tanks will be used in the country's armament programs.
