BAE Systems has been awarded a contract by General Dynamics to provide two additional Mk110 Naval Gun Systems for the US Navy’s Independence variant of Littoral Combat Ship (LCS). Also known as the Bofors 57Mk3, Mk110 is a multi-mission weapon system capable of firing up to 220 rounds per minute at a range of more than 9 nautical miles. Deliveries are expected to take place during 2019 and 2020.
