Considering the relations with Taiwan and the tensions on the Taiwan Strait, China increases the number of weapons in the region.

Beijing Government, which claims rights over Taiwan and considers the country as a part of its mainland, increases the weapon capability of the Eastern Theatre. The Chinese People's Liberation Army deployed the PCL191 Regiment to the 72nd Group located in Huzhou, Zhejiang Province, according to a statement by one of the officers serving in the Chinese Army. It is stated that the the second PCL191 unit established by the country, is located in the closest area of China to Taiwan.

PCL191 systems, which has modular structure, can be equipped with eight 350 km range 370 mm artillery rockets or 500 km range 750 mm fire Dragon 480 tactical ballistic missiles. Deployed on the coast of Taiwan Strait, which is 180 km wide, PCL191s provide PLA opportunity to hit any desired spot on Taiwan.
