Mi-172 Commercialised

Russian Helicopters has obteined a type certificate for medium utility Mi-171A2 enabling the company to deliver the helicopter to commercial customers. The type certificate certifies that the Mi-171A2 developed at Moscow Mil Helicopter Plant may safely transport passengers and cargoes day and night in standard and adverse weather conditions and allows the helicopter to be operated along international air routes. 

Director General of Russian Helicopters Holding Company, Andrey Boginsky, said the flight tests of Mi-171A2 helicopters began in 2014 and since the beginning of 2017 Mi-171A2 helicopter performed more than 200 flights. The Mi-171A2 developed with the aim of reducing helicopter operation costs, improving its performance and achieve standards applied to civil aircraft. More than 80 changes were introduced to the Mi-171A2 design as compared to the baseline model.
