Last Frigate Launched

Fincantieri Shipyard came to an end during the construction phase of the FREMM (Fregata Europea Multi-Missione) Program.

ITS Emilio Bianchi (F 589), the last FREMM built for the Italian Navy (Marina Militare), was launched at Fincantieri's Riva Trigoso Shipyard. The ship, which is the 10th and last platform ordered by Italy, will arrive at Muggiano Shipyard located in La Spezia for refit process. Following the fitting and testing phase, which will be completed under the coordination of OCCAR (Organization for Joint Armament Co-Operation), the platform will join the Italian Navy in 2021.

FREMMs, are serving as Bergamini class in Marina Militare inventory. Platforms are 140.4 meters long and have customized equipment for different task configurations. Full displacement of frigates are 5950 tons and the platforms have 6000 nautical miles range.
