Russia’s only aircraft carrier Admiral Kuznetsov is expected to join the Russian Navy after repairs in 2021, Deputy Defence Minister Yuri Borisov said on Thursday. The modernization of “Admiral Kuznetsov” primarily will be associated with the replacement of boilers of the main power plant and will include upgrades for radar and radio-electronic weapons, as well as an air navigation suit. The 305-metre long carrier can accommodate up to 30 MiG-29K/KUB and Su-33 fighter jets, and also Ka-52K attack helicopters and Ka-27 and Ka-29 anti-submarine warfare helos.
