Tunisia received the first batch of six Bell OH-58D Kiowa helicopters out of 24 ordered, announced by Tunisian Government on 4 February. The new rotary wing platforms will boost the country's reconnaissance, security, air support and surveillance capabilities in “the war against terrorism”, as well as determination of mobile and fixed targets. The OH-58Ds were ordered in May 2016, under a $100,8 million contract.
