The US Navy expanded its Unfunded Priorities List (UPL) from 35 items to a total of 59 items, increasing the needed fund by approximately $7 billion. The service emphasized that a revised fiscal year 2017 (FY17) UPL was not yet submitted officially, and they would proceed according to the new administration's defence strategy and priorities. Some of the additional items in FY17 UPL include six P-8A Poseidon aircraft, 14 F/A-18E/F Super Hornets, Tomahawk missiles, SM-6 Block IA, Rolling Airframe Missile (RAM) Block IIs and Laser Maverick missiles as well as a LPD 17 class amphibious transport dock and an additional Expeditionary Sea Base (ESB).
