Israel Fixed Eyes On Paris

Israeli Elbit Systems has unveiled a new airborne video surveillance system 'SkEye' today, with 80 square kilometers coverage area. The system provides high-resolution intelligence collected from up to 10 specific points of interest in real time with a possibility to go back in time and analyze events from ongoing or previously recorded missions. Senior director for business development and marketing of Elbit's Wide Area Persistent Surveillance unit Yair Ganor said they have added a unique layer of intelligence collection on top of existing electro-optical systems to record and analyze events over very wide areas. SkEye also enables users to zoom in and out to a specific area and features a customized alert system that allows commanders to be notified of specific or unusual events.
The system has been installed on the company’s Hermes 900 and Hermes 450 UAVs as well as the DHC-6 Twin Otter and Cessna 208B platforms. Elbit will exhibit SkEye installed in Hermes 900 at Paris Air Show later this month.
