BAE Systems has been awarded a contract to integrate Israeli supplier IMI Systems' Iron Fist Active Protection Systems (APS) on Dutch CV90 Infantry Fighting Vehicles, announced in 23 December. Iron Fist is an automated system that uses a radar to detect and track threats and then takes action to eliminate the threat. An official from Netherlands Defence Materiel Organisation stated that they would analyze safety and prequalify the active system during the test phase. He added that they expected to make a decision on the next phase by early 2018.
