According to ASELSAN's 2017 annual report, there was a significant improvement in the most critical aspect of the infrared imagers. According to the report, the Uncooled Infrared Thermal Detector (Microbolometer), indigenously developed by ASELSAN engineers, has successfully completed trials. The first bolometer type uncooled infrared detector produced by ASELSAN was integrated into ASELSAN's thermal weapon sights in 2017. Infrastructural studies for the mass production of the detectors in question are ongoing.
