India has begun sea trials for the second Scorpène-class diesel-electric attack submarines (SSKs). Khanderi, built under licence by French company DCNS at by Indian shipbuilder Mazagon Dockyard (MDL). Trials mostly focused on the propulsion system according to MDL.
The relevant contract, valued at $3,5 billion, has been inked in October 2005.
