AESA Radar Order to Northrop

Northrop Grumman Systems has been awarded a $244 million contract to supply the US Air Force 72 Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radars, spares and support services, the Department of Defense announced on Wednesday. The work is expected to be complete by Jan. 31, 2019. 

AESA radar systems provide a wider detection range to the pilots, allowing more time for persistent target observation, information sharing, tactical analysis and commander assessment before critical decisions are made.
