Republic of Korea has commisioned ROKS Daegu, the first ship of of Daegu Class frigates.

Pennant number of ROKS Daegu is designated as FFG-818. Ship is officially commisioned on February 1 . The Daegu Class frigates are developed from Incheon Class Frigates under the FFX-II project.

ROKS Daegu is expected to become fully operational in second half of 2018

Under the contract signed with Republic of Korea Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) in December 2016, the second ship is building by DSME and third and fourth vessels are building at at Hyundai Heavy Industries Shipyards.
