Indian Ministry of Defence announced that there are delays in the Tejas Light Air Combat Aircraft Project of Indian Air Force.
A total of 40 units were ordered in 2005 and four aircrafts delivered at the first stage. Delivery of aircraft which to be produced in two different configurations was planned for 2017-2018. After the elimination of the problems, the HAL (Hindustan Aeronautics Limited) company increased its annual production capacity from eight to 16 Tejas.
