The People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) announced its three-step plan to take on a stronger structure.
Chinese Air Force Deputy Commander Lieutenant General Xu Anxiang held a press conference to mark the 69th anniversary of the founding of the Force. In this meeting, it was announced that the PLAAF will go into a new structure to become a stronger.
China will form a strategic power by integrating air and space power in 2020. In this step, assault and defence forces will work in coordination. The fourth-generation equipment will be the main element and the third generation of equipment will be stored as a reserve. In the second step, the strategic strength of the air force will be increased. Tactics, organizational structure, personnel and weapon systems will be improved to meet the needs of the modern battlefield. Establishing the basic strategic power will find the year 2035. In the third step, the PLAAF will become a world-class force in the mid-21st century.
