March 6, 2018China to Increase 2018 Defense Budget by 8.1 Percent
China’s 2018 defence budget will increase by 8,1 percent to $175 billion according to a budget report to be submitted to the national legislature, Xinhua news agency reported on 5 March.Â
The increase is slightly higher than the 7.6 percent growth in 2016 and 7 percent growth in 2017. China's defence budget takes up a smaller share of its gross domestic product (GDP) and national fiscal expenditure compared with other major countries.
