Black Hawk Assembly in Saudi Arabia

Lockheed Martin will partner with Taqnia to assemble an estimated 150 S-70 Black Hawk helicopters in Saudi Arabia.

The press release Lockheed published on 20 May states that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia expressed its intent to procure more than $28 billion worth of Lockheed Martin integrated air and missile defense, combat ship, tactical aircraft and rotary wing technologies and programs. Among the agreements announced on the release, a Letter of Intent has been signed between Lockheed Martin and Taqnia to form a joint venture to support final assembly and completion of an estimated 150 S-70 Black Hawk utility helicopters for the Saudi government.

On the other hand, Lockheed has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Saudi Arabian Military Industries which, the company claims, once fully realized, it will support more than 18,000 highly skilled jobs in the US and Saudi Arabia over the next 30 years.
