April 5, 2019BAE Systems Offers the Queen Elizabeth-Class Carrier Design To India
An executive from BAE Systems said talks with the Indian Navy has started and the design can be adapted for ski-jump or catapult launch to meet Indian requirements. According to Australian Defence Magazine a BAE Systems representative confirmed that the company is offering its Queen Elizabeth Class (QEC) aircraft carrier design to the Indian Navy. The Indian Government has a requirement for a third, larger, carrier in the 65,000 tonne class. The ship will be built locally, in the Cochin shipyard.
