Romanian Defence Minister Beniamin Les revealed that the country will increase the size of its fighter fleet, acquiring 20 F-16 aircraft. Romania currently has nine F-16 fighters in service with its air force and is set to take delivery of three more by the end of the year, under a $203 million contract inked in 2013 with Portugal. The Minister said their plan was to acquire the new aircraft from the US, and further details would be announced in due course.
