Israeli Missile Defence Organization (IMDO) delivered the Arrow 3 anti-ballistic interceptors to the Israeli Air Force, announced on 18 January. The Arrow-3 development program is one of the joint programs between Israel and the United States. According to IMDO director Moshe Patel, the IMDO will continue to work with the United States in developing additional capabilities for the system. Arrow missiles constitue the layers of air defence system, Irom Dome. Arrow-3 is a highly maneuverable system designed to provide ultimate air defense by intercepting ballistic missiles when they are still outside the earth’s atmosphere. The advanced system is compatible with Arrow 1 and Arrow 2s, although all components of the Arrow missile defense system were upgraded, including radar detection systems and command control centers.
