MD Helicopters, Inc. (MDHI), announced  the new MD 530F Cayuse order. Kenya signed a $ 1.4 billion agreement with MDHI for six armed MD 530F Cayuse helicopters. Under the agreement, the company will provide helicopters with training, logistic support, helicopter systems and ground support equipment. Deliveries will start in April 2019 and will be completed in August of the same year. Kenya became the second MD 530F FMS (Foreign Military Sales) customer after Afghanistan.

MDHI, which has already received 36 MD 530F Cayuse orders, will equip helicopters according to the requirements of Kenya. Kenya Defense Forces helicopters equipped with;

– FN Herstal Weapons Management System 

– DillonAero Mission Configurable Armament System (MCAS) 

– DillonAero Fixed-Forward Sighting System 

– 62mm ballistic armor protection 

– FN Herstal .50 caliber HMP 400 Machine Gun Pods 

– M260 7-shot rocket pods 

On Kenya’s request. The helicopter will also be equipped with the Harris RF-7850A tactical radio and Rockwell Collins HF-900D.
