The Royal Australian Navy’s (RAN’s) first Hobart-class destroyer began sea acceptance trials today. HMAS Hobart, which has successfully completed builder sea trials last year including its hull, propulsion and navigation systems, will undergo a full suite mission systems trial covering design, production, activation and integration of systems. Constructed under the Air Warfare Destroyer Project HMAS Hobart is expected to be delivered to RAN within this year.
