Bangladesh has commissioned two Type 035 (Ming)-class diesel-electric submarines, named BNS Nabajatra and BNS Joyjatra, on 12 March during a ceremony held at the BNS Issa Khan naval base. The submarines, which are the first ever subs of Bangladesh Navy, were in service with China's People's Liberation Army Navy and refurbished prior to commissioning.
