The US's GBU-43 bomb was for the first time used in a combat operation which was conducted against Daesh terror group in east Afghanistan. Pentagon spokesman Adam Stump stated that The GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast was dropped from a MC-130 jet.
Commonly known as the Mother of All Bombs, the GBU-43 has been in service since 2003 and weighs 21 thousand 600 pounds. The MOAB cost more than $300 million to develop and each bomb is estimated to cost $16 million.
