The fifth-generation target UAV 5GAT developed by the United States will make its first flight at the end of October.
Covid-19 due to the delay in the program, the platform completed the first 24 taxi tests before the flight in six days. 5GAT, which successfully pass ground tests for take-off, has been developed as a cost-effective solution.
The drone will be used to assess air-to-air and surface-to-air missile and weapon tests, ground forces training and the development of tactics, techniques and procedures against the fifth-generation threat.
The first flight will test the flight characteristics of 5GAT, the performance of various sub-systems and the automatic take-off and automatic landing functions of the UAV.
