Russia's Instrument Design Bureau (KBP), a subsidiary of the High-Precision Weapons, unveiled its new ShAK-12 heavy assault rifle designed to engage armor-clad soldiers, under light cover or in soft-skin vehicles at a distance of up to 300 m.Â
Intended to be used in assault operations and close-quarter battle (CQB), ShAK-12 fires the 12.7×55 PD-12, PS-12A, PS-12B, STs-177, and STs-178 sub- and supersonic rounds in automatic and semi-automatic modes. Weighing 5,2 kg, the rifle has a length of 675 mm without a silencer.
