General Dynamics Land Systems-Canada (GDLS-C) has unveiled two Light Armoured Vehicle (LAV) variants at the annual CANSEC conference. One of the two new LAV 6.0 Combat Support Vehicle-based system is configured as an ambulance (CSV-A); the other as maintenance and recovery vehicle (CSV-MR). The new variants was developed under Canada's Armoured Combat Support Vehicle (ACSV) programme which is aimed at replacing M113 armoured personnel carriers (APCs) and LAV-II Bisons. The programme is worth $1,1 billion.
CSV-MR features a winch with 4 thousand 400 kg maximum lifting capacity and 5,3-meter maximum horizontal reach. CSV-A is a four-crew vehicle with improved internal volume compared to the medical intervention and evacuation LAV CSV variant unveiled last year.
