The United States has supplied Ukraine with long-range ATACMS missiles to boost its ability to battle Russia’s invasion, the White House confirmed Tuesday after Kyiv said it had used them for the first time. “We believe these ATACMS will provide a significant boost to Ukraine’s battlefield capabilities without risking our (US) military readiness,” National Security Council spokesperson Adrienne Watson said in a statement. Watson said the version “recently” sent to sent to Ukraine had a range of 102 miles (165 kilometers), compared to a maximum of around 190 miles for the longest range ATACMS.
