Israel’s defence minister told visiting United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Monday to expect a long but successful campaign against Hamas militants. “Let me tell you, Mr Secretary, this will be a long war, the price will be high, but we are going to win — for Israel, for the Jewish people and for the values that both countries believe in,” Defence Minister Yoav Gallant told Blinken at the defence ministry in Tel Aviv.
