Israel’s defence minister on Thursday told a top US official that the fight with Hamas in Gaza would “last more than several months”, according to his office. “It will require a period of time — it will last more than several months, but we will win and we will destroy them,” Defence Minister Yoav Gallant said as he met US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, who is visiting Israel, the minister’s office said.
